5 children taken to hospital after dump truck rear-ends school bus in Glencoe

Five children were hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries after a dump truck crashed into a school bus Tuesday morning in Glencoe.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. on Highway 22 near mile marker 109. Both of the vehicles were headed south when the truck rear-ended the bus.

A total of 16 children were on board. The drivers of the dump truck and the school bus – identified by the State Patrol as a 71-year-old Cushing man and a 63-year-old Glencoe woman, respectively- were both taken to a health care facility with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities listed the road conditions as dry at the time of the collision.
