U of M, Gophers’ defensive coordinator Rossi reach contract extension agreement

Gophers football defensive coordinator Joe Rossi and the University of Minnesota have agreed to a contract extension.
According to university officials, the contract extension would keep Rossi in Minnesota into 2024. The contract is pending Board of Regents approval.
Minnesota is currently 25-11 with Rossi leading the defense and the Gophers ended the regular season as the No. 4 ranked unit in total yards allowed per game.
Last month, Rossi was one of 59 coaches nominated for the 2021 Broyles Award, which is presented each year to the top assistant coach in college football.
