The recent cold temperatures have allowed crews to start creating the Ice Castles attraction in New Brighton.
Monday, artists started to grow and harvest icicles for the structure. According to the company, each day, ice artisans will be placing up to 10,000 icicles to build the ice fortress and sculpture garden, which includes slides, tunnels, fountains, caverns, and ice thrones.
The attraction is expected to open in early January, the company says. The New Brighton location is one of five of the Ice Castles experiences in the United States.
