Woman in critical condition after overnight shooting in St. Paul

A woman is in critical condition after being shot in the head early Saturday morning in St. Paul, according to the St. Paul Police Department.
At about 2:45 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Litchfield Street, near Rice Street, on a report of a woman shot in the face. Upon arriving, officers found a "chaotic scene" and found an unresponsive 47-year-old woman inside a residence who seemed to have a gunshot wound to the head.
Police secured the scene and performed lifesaving measures until St. Paul fire medics could arrive. She was taken to Regions Hospital. The woman is in critical condition, police said.
Officers encountered multiple people inside the residence but they were unable to obtain any detailed information about a suspect.
No one is in custody and an investigation is underway.
