Man arrested after search that led to brief soft lockdown of Kimball High School

A man was arrested Friday afternoon after a search that led Kimball High School to briefly go into a soft lockdown.

Wright County says county deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance near Highway 55 and Nevens Avenue Northwest at about 11:30 a.m.

The caller reported a Maple Lake man had run from the scene and threatened to go to Kimball High School. The caller also said the man may be armed and suicidal.

The Wright County and Stearns County sheriff’s offices worked with the school, which decided to go into a soft lockdown until the man was located.

Authorities found and arrested the man, identified as 43-year-old Joseph Anderson, at about 12:49 p.m. near County Road 3 and Highway 55 for domestic assault.
