Presidents Day: What’s open, closed
Monday is Presidents Day, a holiday that celebrates past presidents and commemorates George Washington’s birthday.
Schoolchildren at most Twin Cities public schools will get the day off Monday for Presidents Day.
Most local government offices are closed for Presidents Day. That includes government offices in Minneapolis and St. Paul, and Minneapolis’ 311 information and help line.
Police and emergency services, including 911, remain operational.
Banks, post offices and libraries will be closed Monday.
Garbage and recycling pickup could be delayed in various parts of the metro due to the holiday Monday, although pickup will continue in Minneapolis and St. Paul as normal.
The major U.S. financial markets are closed on Monday and trading will resume normal hours on Tuesday.
