1 dead in Minneapolis crash Monday night

One person is dead following a crash Monday night in Minneapolis.

Minneapolis police say the crash happened at Cedar Avenue South and East Lake Street just before 9 p.m.

Officers provided medical care to one of the two drivers who was seriously injured until an ambulance arrived, according to a news release. The driver later died at the hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation, officials say.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the victim’s identity and official cause of death.
