Police in St. Paul investigating crash involving stolen vehicle
Police in St. Paul are investigating a crash that involved a stolen vehicle Wednesday night.
The St. Paul Police Department said officers were near the intersection of Rice Street and Lyton Place when they saw an SUV speeding northbound on Rice Street.
The officers later lost sight of the vehicle. A short time later, the officers located two vehicles that had been in a crash at the intersection of L’Orient Street and Larpenteur Avenue.
The SUV, which was found to be stolen from Woodbury, was unoccupied. The other vehicle in the crash had two adults, who had to be extricated from the vehicle.
Both of the vehicle’s occupants were taken to Regions Hospital and are expected to survive their injuries, police said.
Two witnesses at the scene of the crash said they saw a man run from the stolen SUV. No arrests have been made.
