More work zone changes for I-35W, plus single-lane traffic on I-35 and I-90
There are many work zones to watch for if you’re heading out this weekend.
Crews made another change to the work zone in the north metro along Interstate 35W northbound between County Road C and I-694. Drivers using the two right access lanes are now traveling in the newly paved lanes. The work is part of the larger I-35W MnPASS Roseville to Lino Lakes project that will be complete in the fall of 2021.
South of the Twin Cities, a concrete repair project is underway along I-35 near Faribault. The roadway is down to one lane on the southbound side about four miles north of Faribault. The work could be done as soon as mid-October.
Along Interstate 90 between Albert Lea and Austin, the ramp detours have been lifted. Traffic is still down to one lane on the eastbound and westbound side while crews pave the roadway. The work is expected to wrap up in November.
