$13K donation helps Free Bikes 4 Kidz after Halloween burglary

A St. Paul business has stepped up with a large donation after a local nonprofit was burglarized on Halloween.

Free Bikes 4 Kidz says its warehouse was burglarized late on Halloween and into the early morning hours of Nov. 1. More than $13,000 was lost, mainly electronics and tools needed to repair the bikes that are collected, the organization said.

So, on Friday morning, Troy Natus, the vice president of Hamernick’s Interior Solutions/Flooring Superstores headed over to Free Bikes 4 Kidz and delivered a $13,000 check. The donation will help cover costs of the stolen supplies.

"This amazing organization works tirelessly to helping kids ride into a happier healthier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need. We were honored to help support their mission," Hamernick’s posted on social media.
