NFL fines Packers $300K for COVID-19 protocol violations

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Allen Lazard are both costing their team for violating National Football League (NFL) COVID-19 protocols.

The league has fined the Green Bay Packers $300,000 for a Halloween party the two players attended.

The league says while the team didn’t sanction the party, it was aware it happened but didn’t discipline Rodgers or Lazard.

The league’s protocols currently prohibit unvaccinated players from gathering outside of the club facility in a group of more than three players.

Another violation involved Rodgers not wearing a mask during his news conferences. Rodgers and Lazard have each been hit with a nearly $15,000 fine.

Rodgers says he expects to start in Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks if he’s cleared of COVID-19 by Saturday.

Meanwhile, Rodgers says he stands behind the comments he made last week about why he didn’t get vaccinated for COVID-19, but acknowledges misleading some people about his status before testing positive.
