Victim of Eden Prairie homicide identified

The woman who was found dead in an Eden Prairie hotel last week has been identified.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as 29-year-old Samantha Rose Columbus Boshey. She was found on Nov. 2 when officers responded for a welfare check after hotel staff called saying they couldn’t wake a person who was supposed to check out the previous day.

Her cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the chest, and her cause of death was ruled a homicide.

Ryan Charles Rooney has been charged with felony second-degree murder with intent and endangering a child in connection to her death.
