MDH: 24 newly-reported COVID-19 deaths, 7,043 newly-reported cases

Tuesday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported*:

  • 24 newly-reported deaths from COVID-19**
  • 7,043 newly-reported positive COVID-19 tests***

*Data reported on Tuesdays represents data as of the remainder of Friday, Saturday, Sunday and as of 4 a.m. on Monday.

**MDH reported two deaths were from September and the rest were from October.

***Just this week, MDH stated that newly-reported cases may include reinfections (a confirmed or probable case from a person that previously had COVID-19 at least 90 days prior.)

Additionally, MDH said:

  • 7 million COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered
  • 3.31 million people have completed the vaccine series
  • 74.9% of those 16 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine

Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported, as of Tuesday, 86 counties in Minnesota remained at a high level of COVID-19 community transmission. One county is considered at a moderate spread.

According to the CDC, counties in red have a high level of community transmission, in orange have a substantial level, in yellow have a moderate level and in blue have a low level.
