Investigation underway after woman found dead in Eden Prairie hotel room

A death investigation is underway after a woman was found dead Tuesday morning in an Eden Prairie hotel room.
According to the Eden Prairie Police Department, officers were sent to the Residence Inn on Flying Cloud Drive just before 11 a.m. for a welfare check on a hotel guest. They found a dead woman, along with a man who had suffered "significant injuries."
The male victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.
Police say there is no immediate threat to the public and that they do not believe this was a random incident.
The woman’s identity and cause of death will be released following an autopsy.
No other information was immediately available.
