A week of hot and humid weather with plenty of activity is ahead, KSTP meteorologist Wren Clair said.

Some scattered thunderstorms could approach the Twin Cities on Monday morning, but there is a higher chance for storms in the evening — and it’s possible they could be severe, Clair said. There is a threat of large hail, tornadoes, gusty winds and heavy rainfall Monday night.

Those storms could carry through overnight and into Tuesday morning, Clair said. There are also chances for scattered storms on Wednesday and Thursday.

We can expect above-average temperatures to continue throughout the week; highs will remain in the high 80s and low 90s through Thursday. The average high for this time of year is 79 degrees.
