Abbott gets approval for new antibody blood test

Abbott’s Laboratories says the FDA has given its emergency approval to a new lab-based antibody blood test.

The company says it plans to ship nearly 30 million of the test globally this month and has the capacity to ship up to 60 million in June.

Antibody testing can give doctors and researchers a better understanding of the virus that causes COVID-19.
