There’s new life for a historic Twin Cities theater.
The Edina Cinema at 50th Street and France Avenue is being revitalized thanks to new owners: Mann Theatres.
The nearly century-old theater will be updated from top to bottom.
A state-of-the-art bar will copy the look of the "Gold Room" in the movie "The Shining."
The renovation will save a part of Edina’s history.
"No city wants to lose their movie theater," Michelle Mann said. "We’ve seen it in many times in our past and they are so excited and so supportive. We want to make this theater a destination."
The company will be repairing the Edina Cinema’s iconic marquee.
They hope to reopen next March.
