Deadly crash under investigation in St. Michael

A man died in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 94 in St. Michael.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, around 12:49 p.m., a Sterling straight truck and a Chevrolet Traverse were both in the right lane headed westbound on I-94 when the truck rear-ended the Chevrolet. The truck then struck a barrier on the Highway 241 off ramp and rolled on its side.

The driver of the truck Dean Johnson, a 62-year-old man from Maple Grove, died in the crash. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the crash report.

The woman driving the Traverse was unharmed.
