#2 St Cloud State previews clash w/ #4 Gophers, battle between pairs of brothers

There are more storylines than usual as the #2 St Cloud State Huskies and #4 Minnesota Gophers renew their college hockey rivalry this weekend.

Gophers coach Bob Motzko helped St Cloud State reach the next level serving as the Huskies head coach from 2005 to 2018 – taking the program to its first Frozen Four.
A quartet of Minnesota teams are currenty ranked in the top five of the USCHO.com poll – topped by Minnesota State at #1 and St Cloud at #2. The Gophers are ranked 4th. Minnesota-Duluth is 5th.
The Gopher and Husky rosters also feature two sets of brothers – Blaine’s Brodzinski’s (Easton – 5th year, St Cloud / Bryce – Junior / Gophers) and The Perbixes from Elk River (Nick – Senior, St Cloud / Jack – Junior, Gophers).
The weekend set begins with a 7pm faceoff at Mariucci Arena at the U on Friday, then moves to the Herb Brooks Center for homecoming festivites in St. Cloud on Saturday.
