Minnesota’s Easter Sunday covered in snow expected to last through Monday

About 2 to 6 inches of snow accumulation will start on Easter Sunday until early Monday morning, according to KSTP Meteorologist Jonathan Yuhas.

The higher amount of snow, according to Yuhas, is expected to be in the south metro and toward Mankato and Rochester with a lesser amount towards St. Cloud.

The snow is expected to melt fast in the areas that will get it the least. Although the heaviest amount of snow, which is expected to be around 6 inches or more, will be in Albert Lea to Rochester and northeast to Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

The heavy snow and high winds can cause some power outages with snow downing some power lines and tree branches, according to Yuhas.

For the next three days, the weather is expected to be windy and cold, but after it’s expected to be dry and sunny from Wednesday through Friday.

The average low and high temperatures for this extended period is 38 degrees and 58 degrees.
