The 4-2 Cooper Hawks have talent on both sides of the ball, anchored by junior Jaxon Howard. The defensive end/tight end is one of the top recruits in the country in the 2023 Class.
Quarterback Joe Russell is a senior who continues to make a name for himself. Russell only stands 5-feet-11, but he certainly plays bigger than that. Russell has thrown for 1,184 yards and 15 touchdowns through six games.
Another stud is senior running back Camden Royal. Royal is averaging better than 155 yards per game, and he’s only 66 yards short of 1,000 yards. He has added 10 touchdowns this season.

Howard has 54 college offers, but recently widdled down his list to 12 schools. He is the top-ranked Minnesota recruit in many, many years.
Cooper has two games remaining in the regular season — at Irondale on Friday and a season finale with Benilde-St. Margaret’s next week. Then the playoffs start.
