Gas prices around the US surge to 7-year high

Gas prices around the U.S. have surged to a seven-year high as the demand for fuel has overtaken the supply.
Prices tend to lower after Labor Day, but that hasn’t happened in 2021.
"We’re seeing supply chain constraints," Chris Ventura, executive director of the Consumer Energy Alliance Midwest, said. "Specifically, when it comes to being able to transport oil and gasoline. And then third, we’re seeing a lot of headwinds from Washington, D.C."
Ventura also cited pent-up demand coming out of COVID-19 lockdown and industry "roaring back to life."
The average price at the pump in Minnesota is $3.09 and the national average is $3.28.
