Mall of America to welcome 9 new brands to Community Commons

The Mall of America is welcoming nine new brands to be featured within its Community Commons businesses.

The mall opened Community Commons as a donated space for 17 local businesses impacted by the pandemic and riots from the civil unrest that took place in the Twin Cities last year. According to MOA, the cooperative retail space continues to feature a revolving group of local entrepreneurs every six months to test their concepts and expand into newer audiences.

The following brands will now be open at the MOA: Coco Nashay, Edicion Especial, Highly Flavored Delicacies, House of Bella Hair & Fashion, House of Queens, Joe Peezy Wear, Mike’s Premium Organic Beard Oil, Tipton Hammond Arts and Under Dawg.

According to the mall, the new businesses entering the space benefit from no rent for the initial three months, which allows them the opportunity to get their businesses up and running. After that, they will have the opportunity to remain in Community Commons with percentage rent. After their six-month period, brands will then have the chance to open an independent space within MOA.

Eight local businesses have opened up their own spaces in the mall since Community Commons was established. They are: Bitfu’s Blends/Global Braids, Dauren Worldwide, Fabulous Diva Boutique, 4TheLove, Herbal Alchemy, La Michoacana Purepecha, Llakta and Urban 29.

Community Commons is open on Level 2 of the mall. For more information, click here.
