Teenager dies after crash with semi-truck outside Albert Lea

A 16-year-old girl died following a crash involving a semi-truck Monday afternoon just outside Albert Lea.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 16-year-old Grace Elizabeth Zimmerman was driving a 2019 Ford Fiesta traveling eastbound on County Road 14 in Freeborn County. A Peterbilt tractor was traveling northbound on Highway 13 when the vehicles collided at the intersection of Highway 13 and County Road 14 at 2:47 p.m.
The crash report states that Zimmerman was wearing a seatbelt and that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. The report also says the road conditions were wet.
Daniel Joseph Petracek, 57, the driver of the Peterbilt tractor, was uninjured.
