This week’s honoree is from Woodbury high school and it’s linebacker/receiver Joey Gerlach. He helped on both sides of the ball in the Royals’ season opening win over Champlin Park.

Gerlach is verbally committed to play linebacker for South Dakota State, although Gophers’ defensive coordinator Joe Rossi was spotted at Friday’s game. Could he have been scouting Gerlach?
