No. 9 Eden Prairie volleyball sweeps No. 2 Bloomington Jefferson

The No. 9 Eden Prairie Eagles defeated the No. 2 Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars 3-0, Thursday evening at Eden Prairie High School.

The Eagles jumped out to an 11-6 first set lead. The lead then soared to 16-8 for Eden Prairie. Junior Lillian Ekness would then win the set for Eden Prairie with a kill to make it 25-14 Eagles.
The second set was tight. Jefferson got out to an 8-7 lead to begin the set. The Eagles would then take the 12-11 lead about halfway through the set. Eden Prairie would go on a run and expand the lead to 20-11. Eden Prairie junior Evelyn Skattum and Ekness combined for the set-winning block, making it 25-14 Eagles.
Eden Prairie jumped out to an early 7-5 lead in the third set. The Eagles would extend that lead to 13-7, just over halfway through the third set. Jefferson would claw back to make it 14-11. Eagles kept fighting to make it 18-14. Jefferson would not give up and cut the lead to 19-17. The Jaguars would then take the 22-21 lead late in the third set. However, the Eagles dig deep and won the third set 27-25 to win the match 3-0.
