Proposed St. Paul apartment building creating parking concerns

A proposed apartment building in St. Paul is creating controversy.

The five-story building would be built near the corner of Selby Avenue and Dale Street.

Some neighborhood groups are concerned about how the project would impact parking in an already crowded area.

TJL Development says the building would have an underground parking garage with 110 spaces, more parking than the city requires.

One nearby business thinks the project would be a great addition to the neighborhood. 

"Parking is an issue," Mary Hogan-Bard, owner of Claddagh Coffee, said. "But you know what, this is the city and guess what, you might have to walk a block and that's kind of nice I think.." 

If the project is approved by the city, the developer hopes to break ground in the fall and open next year.
