1 dead after crash in rural Cass County
A 77-year-old man is dead after a crash Wednesday afternoon in Cass County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Just after noon, a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling north on Highway 6 near Remer, a town about 25 miles southwest of Grand Rapids, when it crossed into the southbound lane and struck a Ford Escape, a crash report states.
The driver of the Tahoe, 36-year-old Matthew Turner of Pine River, Minnesota, was taken to Crosby Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Escape, 77-year-old Harold Edmund Cook, was killed, said the state patrol.
It is unknown whether alcohol was involved in the accident. The collision did involve an unbelted driver.
