As the delta variant accelerates COVID-19 transmission across the country, vaccine mandates are cropping up in both the private and public sectors.
On Wednesday, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced a vaccine requirement for all state employees — anyone who opts out of the vaccine will have to produce weekly negative tests.
Health experts say the vaccine remains the most effective way to stop the spread of the coronavirus, and officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are now urging pregnant women to get the shot, citing disturbing numbers of unvaccinated expectant mothers becoming seriously ill.
Government officials have also confirmed to ABC News that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is expected to authorize a third booster shot for immune-compromised people.
Our Lindsey Brown checked in with KSTP medical expert Dr. Archelle Georgiou to discuss the latest developments in the pandemic.
