UnitedHealthcare acquiring PreferredOne

Edina-based UnitedHealthcare is acquiring Golden Valley-based PreferredOne Health Insurance.
Fairview CFO Hayes Batson delivered the news to employees in an email on Monday.
In the email, Batson said the agreement will help Fairview, "further our mission of delivering (excellent, quality) care on behalf of our patients and our community."
Batson also said ClearScript, Fairview’s home delivery service, isn’t part of the sale and will remain with Fairview.
PreferredOne has 420 employees and serves 400,000 members and 3,000 employer groups, according to Fairview.
UnitedHealthcare declined to comment on the agreement.
