A sculptor who has spent decades carving those butter sculptures at the Minnesota State Fair is stepping down.
Thursday, Gov. Tim Walz honored Linda Christensen with a proclamation outside the Dairy Building.
Christensen is in her 50th and final year carving the 90-pound blocks of butter into works of art while sitting inside a 40-degree cooler at the fair.
Minnesota native Gerry Kulzer is taking over for Christensen.
