2 teens arrested after stolen car hits ambulance on I-35E
Two teenagers were arrested Wednesday night after a stolen vehicle they were in hit an ambulance on Interstate 35E in St. Paul.
According to St. Paul Police, officers saw a black Audi Q5 that was reported stolen from West St. Paul and was believed to have been involved in many robberies and carjackings in the city. An officer attempted to pull the vehicle over but it fled.
Officers began a pursuit on I-94 westbound when the vehicle attempted to drive onto northbound I-35E. The Audi then struck an Allina ambulance and the two occupants of the Audi ran away.
Police said two boys — 15-year-old and a 17-year-old — were eventually arrested.
The ambulance did have a patient inside at the time of the crash but neither the patient nor the ambulance personnel were injured in the crash, police said.
