1 arrested after several gunshots reported in Moorhead

A 24-year-old man was arrested after several gunshots were reported on Wednesday in Moorhead.

According to the Moorhead Police Department, at 10:02 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of 18 Street South for several gunshots reports.

Officers were able to locate the apartment complex where the shooting occurred. While investigating the shooting, Dexter Lee Fox, 24, of Moorhead, was found in an apartment and detained. The firearm that is believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered on the scene.

The shooting was not a random act. The parties involved know each other and have been identified and contacted. None of the involved parties reported any injuries as a result of the shooting. There is no current risk to public safety.

Fox was arrested and is held at the Clay County Jail pending formal charges from the Clay County Attorney’s Office for reckless discharge of a firearm.
