The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is cautioning pet owners to not feed their animals a certain frozen pet food after it tested positive for Salmonella.
A news release from the agency states Aunt Jeni's Home Made raw frozen pet food (specifically Aunt Jeni's Home Made Turkey Dinner Dog Food, 5 lb. (2.3 kg), lot 175331, NOV2020) tested positive for Salmonella in a sample provided last month.
The FDA is advising the public about this product because it represents a serious threat to human and animal health.
In August 2019, FDA issued a public health advisory after one lot of each of two varieties of the same pet food tested positive for Salmonella and/or Listeria.
