Pretrial deadlines set for Kim Potter trial
On Monday, Hennepin County Judge Regina M. Chub finalized some deadline dates ahead of former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter’s trial, which is scheduled to start Nov. 30.
Potter is charged with second-degree manslaughter in the death of Daunte Wright. Potter screamed "Taser!" as she was holding her gun and shot Wright point-blank during a traffic stop in April. Potter’s trial date was set last week, which will not feature any cameras or audio recorded during the trial.
Monday’s filings included deadline dates relating to initial expert and expert disclosures, a pretrial motion schedule and other agenda items.
Initial expert disclosures will need to be presented to the judge on or before Aug. 30. Rebuttal experts are to be disclosed on or before Sept. 15. Expert disclosures will need to be submitted as well by Sept. 15, according to the court documents.
