UPDATE: Occupants of 3 units without home after Minneapolis apartment fire

UPDATE: In an update Wednesday morning, the Minneapolis Fire Department reported no one was hurt in a fire at a Minneapolis apartment complex and that the occupants of three units were displaced.
Additionally, the fire department reported two cats had died in the fire.
Last night's fire on the 300 block of 19th St E was extinguished with no victims or injuries to residents reported. 2 cats did not survive. The occupants of 3 of the apt units were displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Two families lost their homes after a fire at an apartment complex near the intersection of I-35W and E. Franklin Avenue in Minneapolis Tuesday night.
The fire occurred in a four-story apartment building on the 300 block of East 19th Street, according to the Minneapolis Fire Department.

Firefighters said no one was hurt but said a cat did die in the fire.
"As I was getting my stuff together, I look into my kitchen and just nothing but red smoke all over," resident Mo Khan said.
A Metro Transit bus was brought in to shelter those who had to evacuate and the Red Cross is helping the families that lost their apartments in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
