2 residents suffer minor injuries in Minneapolis apartment fire

Two residents suffered minor injuries following a late morning apartment fire in Minneapolis on Friday

Fire crews arrived around 11:30 a.m. to a three-story apartment building on the 3000 block of Third Avenue South, according to the Minneapolis Fire Department.

Fire was detected in the basement and was quickly put out without extension further into the building.

Two residents were treated for minor symptoms at the scene but were not transported to the hospital.

A cat was also rescued from the building and was turned over to Minneapolis animal control.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
