12 tornadoes spotted in Iowa, damage reported

Iowa experienced multiple tornadoes Wednesday, causing damage in central parts of the state.

The National Weather Service confirmed at least 12 tornadoes were spotted.

Several homes were destroyed near Lake City, and officials will be out doing storm surveys Thursday.

A statewide power outage map showed thousands of people without power Thursday morning due to the tornadoes.

Crews said there are no reported injuries from the tornadoes so far.
