Plymouth native Drew Donlin excited to play for Team USA in World Handball Championship

With the World Handball Championship starting this week in Egypt, Plymouth native Drew Donlin will be trying to help Team USA advance out of a tough group. The U.S. is paired with handball powerhouses Norway, France, and Austria. 32 nations will be competiting for the world title, which runs through Jan. 31.
The U.S. opens play vs. Austria on Thursday.
We caught up with Donlin, as he was training with his teammates in Denmark.

Donlin played football at Wayzata high school, not picking up handball until his freshman year at the Air Force Academy. He now plays professionally in Spain, in addition to his Team USA duties.

Unfortunately, the U.S. didn’t qualify for the 2021 Summer Olympics. So, this summer, Donlin will return to his job with the Air Force, something he details in the above video.
Donlin, 28, also played basketball and baseball in high school.
