Girls H.S. Hockey: Chisago Lakes upsets 3-time champ Breck in season opener

Chisago Lakes senior Jenna Lawry scored one goal in each period, accounting for all three of the Wildcats goals in a 3-2 season-opening upset over three-time defending Class A state champion Breck.
Lawry scored with 2:20 remaining in the game to complete her hat trick and put Chisago Lakes ahead for good in a wildly entertaining game at Breck’s Anderson Arena.

Lawry’s first goal 1:10 into the game opened the scoring before Breck sophomore Ava Lindsay scored back-to-back goals – one late in the first, one mid-second – to put the Mustangs ahead 2-1.
The Breck lead only lasted 71 seconds as Lawry’s second goal again knotted the game at 2-2.

Wildcat’s goalie Anna Hanson made 31 saves to earn the win. Breck’s Sarah Peterson had 22 saves.
