Minnetonka overpowers Jefferson in the season opener in boys hockey

Minnetonka outshot Bloomington Jefferson 49-11 enroute to an 8-0 victory on Thursday night. The Skippers got a lift from seniors Blake Anderson and Tyler Kueppers who both score two goals apiece.

Minnetonka has 13 seniors on the team giving them a lot of experience and it certainly showed on Thursday night. Jefferson had difficulty getting shots off, where the Skippers nearly scored at will.

Other players scoring for the Skippers include: Johnny Thrasher, Jack Quinn, Ben Konen, and Graham Harris.

Minnetonka goaltender Anders Irene kept the shutout in tact giving the Skippers a solid performance on both offense and defense.

Minnetonka’s next game will be against Edina next Thursday night at Braemar Ice Arena.
