Gopher football: 2 more student-athletes test positive for COVID-19
Two more University of Minnesota football players have tested positive for COVID-19, the program announced Thursday.
The two additional cases are the only additional ones since the program’s update on Nov. 30. That’s when the team also announced its game scheduled for this Saturday against Northwestern was canceled due to the ongoing issues with COVID-19.

However, the team is preparing to possibly return to practice, and several team members began light workouts on Wednesday, the university said.
Since Nov. 19, a total of 49 people — 23 student-athletes and 26 staff members — have tested positive for COVID-19 in the program.
The university is continuing to work with the Minnesota Department of Health regarding its cases.
