TRIA Prep Sports Salute, Nov. 4: Rosemount’s Jake Ratzlaff

Every Wednesday at 6:50 p.m. on 5-Eyewitness News, we feature the TRIA Prep Sports Salute.
This week we recognize Rosemount senior Jake Ratzlaff, who is committed to the Gophers men’s hockey team. A star defenseman, he gave his verbal commitment a few years ago.
Since then he’s gotten better and better on the football field. He’s now to the point of having scholarship offers from the Gophers and Badgers. They both want him as a linebacker.

Ratzlaff is also a star baseball player, although that’s not an option, at least now, at the collegiate level.
Rosemount senior Jake Ratzlaff has opportunities to play hockey or football in college.[KSTP: Jeff Brioschi]
He plans on making a final decision in the next 1-2 months. If it’s hockey, he’ll head to Green Bay to play for its team in the United States Hockey League. If football, he’ll stay at Rosemount until joining the Gophers or Badgers for winter workouts in January.
