#7 Chanhassen football storms past Waconia, remains undefeated

The #7 Chanhassen Storm football team defeated the Waconia Wildcats 34-0, Thursday evening at Chanhassen High School.

Following a scoreless first quarter, Chanhassen struck first when senior running back Tucker Pinkerton scored on a 55-yard run to make it 7-0 Chanhassen with 9:45 left in the second quarter. Later in the second, Storm senior quarterback, Riley Funk hit junior running back Josh Kirchoff deep for a 69-yard touchdown catch, making it a 13-0 game with just under four minutes left in the half.
Waconia had the ball in the red zone at the end of the half. Following a sack by the Storm, it was 4th and 16 from the 17-yard line. Chanhassen held strong and yielded zero points. 13-0 Chanhassen at halftime.
To start the second half, sophomore wideout Josh Och took the kickoff 82-yard for the Storm touchdown, giving them a 20-0 lead.
In the fourth quarter, Pinkerton struck again when he scored on an 8-yard run to make it 27-0 Chanhassen with 9:45 left in the game. Then, to put the icing on the game, junior running back Brody Pinkerton scored on a 5-yard run to make it a 34-0 game.
Waconia drops to 2-3 on the year. Chanhassen improves to 4-0 on the season. The Storm are 4-0 for the first time since 2016.
