Karl-Anthony Towns appointed to NBA’s Social Justice Coalition
Thursday, the Minnesota Timberwolves announced that Karl-Anthony Towns will join the National Basketball Social Justice Coalition.
The newly formed coalition will lead the NBA’s efforts to "advance equality and social justice," according to the team’s release.
Towns is one of 15 members to join the coalition’s board.
“The two-time All-Star has been on the front lines advocating for social and racial justice, and his presence has been especially felt in the Twin Cities community throughout the summer,” the team said in a statement.
Throughout the summer, Towns, along with Timberwolves guard Josh Okogie, visited George Floyd Memorial and attended numerous rallies.
