Stillwater’s Ana Weaver sets state record in girls cross country

Stillwater senior Ana Weaver has gone faster than any other girl in cross country history in the state of Minnesota with a record setting time of 16:42.6 in a recent meet in Forest Lake.

"I wasn’t sure what my time was going to be that day, but I was feeling good and I had plenty of encouragement from family and friends that pushed me to do my best," said Ana Weaver Stillwater senior/ cross country runner.

Weaver is fast and proves it by training with the Stillwater boys cross country team.

"They have accepted me and it’s so much fun to train with them. They truly push me to try to go faster than I ever have before," Weaver adds. "I love running with the girls on my team too, it’s the best of both worlds and I’m just trying to soak in as much as I can before my senior year is over," said Weaver.

Weaver is currently ranked fourth in the nation in girls cross country and plans on running for Brigham Young University next year in college. Both the men’s and women’s programs at BYU are ranked number #1 and number #2 respectively.
