Vikings claim CB Chris Jones on waivers, sign Fields from practice squad
The Minnesota Vikings on Monday announced a few roster moves.
The team claimed cornerback Chris Jones on waivers. Jones was waived by the Detroit Lions on Saturday.
The two-year pro out of the University of Nebraska has appeared in 14 career games and totaled 20 tackles and six passes defensed in his career in time with Arizona and Detroit.
Additionally, the Vikings signed cornerback Mark Fields II off the practice squad.
Minnesota also announced that linebacker Troy Dye and offensive guard Pat Elflein can now return to practice for a period of up to 21 days, after which time they may return to the 53-man active roster. If they aren’t returned to the active roster after that time, they’ll have to remain on the Reserve/Injured list for the rest of the season.
The Vikings currently sit at 1-5 on the season and are coming off a bye week this past weekend.
They’re set to play in Green Bay on Sunday.
