Lynx have first losing streak of year after dropping game vs. Mystics

Washington led the Lynx for most of Tuesday night’s game in Bradenton, Florida, and won 89-86. The Lynx (13-7) are now in danger of losing their spot in the top-four of the WNBA playoff standings.

The Lynx led, 70-67, to end the third quarter. But the Mystics scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter and never looked back.

Lynx rookie Crystal Dangerfield chose to go in for a lay-up, instead of attempting a game-tying three pointer with under a second left. The lay-up cut Washington’s lead to one, but they then made two free throws with .1 second left to finish the game.

This is Minnesota’s first losing streak of the season. The Lynx play Las Vegas on Thursday before finishing the regular season Saturday vs. Indiana.
