On the eve of their 2020 season opener, the Minnesota Vikings signed running back Dalvin Cook to a 5-year contract extension.
The deal is worth $63 million with $28.2 million guaranteed, including a $15.2 million signing bonus.
A source tells KSTP’s Darren Wolfson that Cook’s agent flew into town to ramp up talks in the last 48 hours and the Vikings significantly increased their offer from months ago.
Cook, 25, has rushed for 2,104 yards in his three-year NFL career with the Vikings. Last season, Cook rushed for a career-high 1,135 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. He was a 2nd round pick out of Florida State in the 2017 NFL Draft.
