That score held true until the when Scott Finberg of the Irish crushed an RBI triple to make it 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth. It was in the bottom of the sixth when the Irish broke the game open. Following an run-scoring-error from the Hops, Stockmen’s Brody Paulson hit a two-RBI single to make it a 5-0 game.

That was all Irish pitcher Teddy Klingsporn needed on the afternoon. Klingsporn was dominant. He finished the game with a complete game and added 12 strikeouts to go with his performance.

With the win, the Irish advance to the Elite 8 and will play the winner of Lyon’s Pub and St. Louis Park in the next round.
